Meet Walrus – a character-led rebrand and illustration system
Walrus is a decentralised data platform focused on making data verifiable, accessible and easy to use.
As part of a wider rebrand and website launch, I worked closely with Creative Director David Robinson to reimagine the Walrus mascot and build a flexible illustration system used across product, marketing and community.

The original direction was refined to simplify the silhouette, improve proportions and strengthen the overall personality.
Small adjustments helped make the character more distinctive and usable across the brand.
Working closely with Creative Director David Robinson, we set out to refine the Walrus mascot into a more defined and consistent character.
The focus was on simplifying the form, strengthening recognisability and creating a system that could scale across the brand.
Early sketches focused on silhouette, proportion and tone – balancing something playful and approachable with a form that felt distinctive and ownable.
Built from simple geometric shapes, the character stays consistent across angles and poses, creating a strong foundation for a flexible, scalable mascot system.
Supporting Illustration System
A complementary line-based style was developed for the builder and developer side of the product – used across the website and technical content.
It provides a lighter, more flexible way to communicate complex ideas while staying visually consistent with the wider brand.
Walmojis
A set of expressive icons designed for internal use across Slack, bringing personality into day-to-day team communication.
Telegram Stickers
A set of character-led stickers designed for Telegram and community use — translating the brand into quick, shareable moments. Built to feel playful, relatable and highly shareable, the stickers extend the mascot beyond static visuals into something people can use and connect with daily.
3D Character
3D became a core part of the Walrus brand – bringing the mascot into a more expressive, dimensional space.
Working from my illustration work, Wandervision translated the character into 3D for use across product, marketing and key brand moments.
